This vibrant performing arts school located in a local hub of theatrical activity- Riverlea Theatre- offers students from 4 to 100yrs old an exciting range of opportunities to develop dramatic skills and attain theatrical excellence within the atmospheric, fun, stimulating environment of a working theatre. The sessions are facilitated by qualified, experienced theatre practitioners who are all locally renowned experts in the field of performing arts education.
Spearheading the tutorial team this year is Angela Walker who has been the regional adviser for drama in schools for the past seven years. Angela is very excited to finally be able to offer motivated individuals a chance to extend their talents and pursue their theatrical dreams.
Classes take place on a weekly basis and offer students opportunities in all aspects of theatre including acting, mime, movement, singing ,voice and a range of stage technologies. An exciting new opportunity for 2008 is the inclusion of a musical theatre class where students will learn collaboratively through music, dance and drama.
The school year consists of three terms and is brought to a close with the performance of the annual Stagecraft production for the wider community.
